Home Insurance
Home insurance concerns the protection of your home and the items kept within it.
What is it?
Home insurance is an agreement that provides financial cover for damage to your home's structure or its contents caused by unforeseen events. It can address just the building, just the furniture and appliances (contents), or both. Coverage is shaped according to the insurer and your own priorities, and is always confirmed in the policy.
Who is it for?
It is relevant to homeowners living in their own property, tenants who wish to protect their personal belongings, and owners of holiday homes.

New Tax Benefit for Home Insurance
From 1 January 2026, Cyprus tax reform provides a deduction from taxable income for premiums paid for home insurance against natural disasters, up to €500 per tax year, subject to the conditions of the applicable legislation.
The provision applies to home insurance against natural-disaster risks such as:
- Fire
- Earthquake
- Flood
- Other eligible natural-disaster risks under the applicable legislation
The deduction relates to eligible insurance premiums up to €500 and does not represent a €500 tax refund. The actual tax effect depends on each individual's tax circumstances and the applicable legislative conditions.
When might you need it?
You acquire your first home through a bank mortgage.
You are undertaking a significant renovation or extension of your home.
You acquire valuable items or equipment kept on your premises.
You move into a rented home and want to cover your own furniture.
These are illustrative circumstances, not a description of policy terms, conditions or exclusions.
Why review this cover?
Property construction values and the cost of replacing equipment change over time. A periodic review ensures that the insured sums remain adequate, so that in the event of damage you do not face financial gaps.
