Life Insurance
Life insurance concerns the financial protection of the people who depend on you, in the event of your death.
What is it?
This is an agreement with an insurer under which a defined sum is paid to beneficiaries you nominate, if you die within the period of cover. There are different forms — from simple, fixed-term contracts to solutions with a savings element. Which form suits you depends on the purpose behind it, and is always confirmed case by case.
Who is it for?
It is mainly relevant to people with financial dependants — a spouse, children or parents; business owners whose absence would seriously affect the company; and anyone who has taken on a loan or other long-term financial commitment.

When might you need it?
You have a child and want to secure their future in case you are no longer there.
You take out a mortgage or other significant loan and want to protect your family from the remaining balance.
You are the main or sole income earner in the household.
You are actively involved in a business and your absence would create a financial gap for partners or staff.
A lender requests life insurance as a condition of granting a loan.
These are illustrative circumstances, not a description of policy terms, conditions or exclusions.
Why review this cover?
A family's financial obligations and needs change over time — a loan reduces, children grow up, income shifts. A periodic review helps establish whether the amount and duration of cover still match your actual circumstances.
The Vesta approach
Understand first, then solutions.
Before proposing anything, we want to understand who depends on you financially, what obligations exist and what your family would need to carry on without you. We then discuss solutions that respond to that picture, rather than a standardised figure.
The Vesta approach
Why does life insurance matter?
Life insurance is not only about a sum insured. It is about the financial protection of the people who depend on you, and your family's ability to carry on with greater financial security, even when the unexpected happens.
Financial protection for the family
In the event of the insured person's death, the sum insured can provide significant financial support to those who depend on them financially.
Protecting the household income
The loss of an income can dramatically change a family's financial position. Life insurance can create a financial safety net for the period that follows.
Covering financial obligations
An appropriately designed sum insured can take existing financial obligations into account, such as mortgages or other loans and significant family commitments.
Protecting your children's future
Sound planning can take children's future needs into account, such as their education and studies, so that important family goals can be financially protected.
Maintaining the standard of living
Financial protection can help the family meet everyday expenses and essential needs without having to abruptly change its entire financial plan.
Protecting your partner
Life insurance can be an important part of a couple's financial planning, particularly when one income significantly affects the household's financial stability.
Protection designed around real needs
The appropriate sum insured is not the same for everyone. Income, financial obligations, dependants, future goals and the family's overall financial position are all examined.
Possible tax benefits
Premiums on certain life policies may, subject to the conditions and limits set out in the tax legislation of the Republic of Cyprus in force at the time, be capable of being used within the available tax deductions. Their application depends on each taxpayer's personal data and circumstances.
How much life insurance do you actually need?
The answer should not be an arbitrary number.
It starts from a different question: if your income stopped tomorrow, how much capital would your family need to meet its financial obligations, maintain its standard of living and continue funding important future goals?
At VESTA we examine these needs first, and then determine the level of protection that corresponds to your own reality.
